Come Home to Point Amour
Posted 03 May 2022, 1:23 pm NDT
The Point Amour Lighthouse Provincial Historic Site will open for the 2022 season on May 21. Opening hours are 9:30 - 5:00pm daily until October 7.
Climb the 132 steps to the top of the tallest lighthouse in Atlantic Canada - the second tallest in Canada in the company of tour guide. Perhaps you will spot an iceberg, a whale, and seabirds. We promise a spectacular view even in the fog!
Point Amour Lighthouse is a lot more than a great view... it's a snapshot of life in the Labrador Straits. Whales and icebergs are just the beginning - coastal hikes, wildflowers, fossils, the wreck of HMS Raleigh, and nearby the oldest burial mound in North America.
We are commemorating the lost of HMS Raleigh on August 8, 1922 this summer with programming, events and activities. Watch for details at
Point Amour Lighthouse.
